SriRootz is a technology platform connecting local food vendors and buyers. These Terms explain what that means for you, what we do and don't take responsibility for, and the rules for using the app.
Agreement
By creating an account or using SriRootz, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
What SriRootz is (and is not)
SriRootz is a technology platform that connects local food vendors and buyers.
We are not:
- The seller of produce (vendors are independent sellers)
- A grocery store, farm, or delivery company unless we say so explicitly
- Providing medical, nutritional, legal, or professional agricultural advice
- Guaranteeing food safety, quality, organic status, or regulatory compliance of any listing
Transactions are primarily between buyer and vendor. You are responsible for pickup, payment, food safety, and local laws.
Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 to use the app as a buyer.
- You must be at least 18 to register as a vendor and list products for sale.
- You must provide accurate registration information (email, phone, ZIP).
- You may not use SriRootz where prohibited by law.
Accounts
- Keep your login credentials secure.
- You are responsible for activity on your account.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations, fraud, or risk to users.
Allowed listings
SriRootz is a farm-produce marketplace. Vendors may list only locally grown or farm-sourced food such as vegetables, fruits, leafy greens, herbs, roots, grains, poultry, and similar items.
Not allowed: non-farm or prohibited items, including electronics, jewelry, weapons, tobacco or vape products, controlled or illegal substances, counterfeit goods, and other off-marketplace merchandise. Do not use misleading titles, photos, or categories to disguise prohibited items.
Vendor responsibilities vendors
If you list products, you agree that you:
- Have the right to sell what you list
- Comply with federal, state, and local laws (licenses, cottage food rules, labeling, organic claims, weights & measures, tax, etc.)
- Provide accurate descriptions, prices, photos, and inventory
- Fulfill orders in good faith and communicate honestly with buyers
- Handle payments and refunds according to your stated payment methods
- Maintain safe handling practices for perishable food
Taxes
You are solely responsible for determining and satisfying any tax obligations related to your use of SriRootz, including income, sales, or other taxes on amounts you earn. SriRootz does not provide tax or accounting advice. You should consult your own tax advisor about how to report income from sales made through the app.
You alone are responsible for your products and claims (e.g. "organic," "pesticide-free").
Business verification
After $500 or more in lifetime completed sales on SriRootz, vendors must add registered business entity details (e.g., LLC, Inc.) in Profile → Business verification before posting new listings.
Buyer responsibilities buyers
- Review listings carefully before ordering
- Coordinate pickup/payment as shown in the app
- Inspect products at pickup; raise issues promptly with the vendor
- Use order chat respectfully; no harassment or illegal content
- Report violations: if a listing, farm, order, or message is not farm produce or violates these Terms, use Report user on the relevant screen (or Help → Report another member)
Orders & payments
- Order placement may reduce vendor inventory in the app.
- Payment methods (cash, Venmo, Zelle, Stripe, etc.) are configured by vendors. SriRootz does not guarantee any payment method works for every transaction.
- Disputes over quality, refunds, or no-shows are primarily between buyer and vendor. We may help at our discretion but are not obligated to mediate or refund.
Reports & enforcement
- Members may report listings, farms, orders, or chats that violate marketplace rules.
- We review reports and may remove content, warn users, restrict accounts, or take other action.
- Accounts with more than five substantiated reports may be restricted from buying and selling pending review. Restricted users may still sign in and contact customer care through Help → Contact customer care in the app.
- If a transaction involves a prohibited or non-farm item, the buyer and vendor involved may be solely responsible for any legal consequences after our review, including compliance with applicable federal, state, and local law. SriRootz may cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.
User content
You retain ownership of content you post (photos, text). You grant SriRootz a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content only to operate the service (e.g. show listings to nearby buyers).
You must not post content that is false, misleading, infringing, hateful, or illegal.
We may remove content or listings that violate these Terms or create risk.
